Slowly, but surely, the exterior will be completed. (The outside is not keeping pace with the inside, which has seen drywall go up almost daily; photos to come.)

Forget everything I just said. This is definitely the awesomest thing I have ever seen. (b gives homesweetbarn the thumbs up!)

Strike that. This might be the awesomest thing I have ever seen.

This might be the awesomest thing I have ever seen.

….and since that last batch of photos, Billy and Chris spent an afternoon painting, so the middle bedroom is nearly finished! It will be the first completed room. So exciting.
Here are some more updated interior photos….. and it’s all stuff that is starting to make the barn feel like a house. In particular: drywall, spackle and flooring. And not just any flooring….. there were weeks and months where we thought we’d never see the end of pulling down boards and taking out nails. But we think it was worth it, as all of those boards will be used as flooring.
Pretty awesome.
Here are some long overdue photos of the progress that has been made over the last several weeks. The hvac, electric and plumbing are complete. The spray foam insulation is nearly done (just a few areas need to be addressed). And we’re slowly chipping away at the exterior painting.
As promised:
Here are just a few updated photos, and quite a bit of progress has been made. We now have permanent (as opposed to temporary, make-shift) stairs, the exposed spiral ducts are in, and we’ve gotten a jump start on drywall.
Not pictured: electrical wiring and plumbing are also well on their way.
All very exciting.
So, it’s clear that we have been quite lousy at this whole blog thing. We have a bevy of excuses: our weekends have been filled with events, it gets dark too early to get over there after work and snap some pictures, we forget our camera every time we’re there to do work, the list goes on.
But just because we haven’t been posting, it doesn’t mean that work hasn’t been done. And just this past weekend we got there with our camera to snap some updated shots.
They will tell the tales of progress far better than my words alone.
So we’ll get them up soon.
Promise.
