For lack of a better descriptor, we have referred to the space between the barn and the milkhouse as the ‘overhang.’ There are steps down from the side of the house (it’s the opening in the last photo) and it’s open to the front of the house just under the porch. It hasn’t served much of a purpose so far, except for where the kids drop their bikes and we store our trashcans.

But now we are hoping to make it a functional space. We bought some salvaged metal barn roofing and tacked it up to make a ceiling.
